Acrobats, carriage rides, musicians - all things to be enjoyed while strolling through one of Helsinki's beautiful parks.

Helsinki-Senate Square and Cathedral

Senate Square and Cathedral - all renovation of buildings are screened off. A nice touch. Some photos are quite dark because we enjoyed rain while touring Helsinki.

Market from the Inside Out

This market was located at the port and fun to walk through. If you were looking for reindeer or bear sausage, you could certainly find it here alongside beautiful fruits, veggies and breads. In the center of the market was a small cafe where one could indulge in a beer or coffee either before or after shopping.

Helsinki-SUOMENLINNA-Fortress of Finland

Suomenlinna is a 15 minute ferry ride from Kauppatori. The Swedes built here in 1748 to stave off Russian attacks. However, the Russians took the fort in 1808 & remained under Russian control until Finnish independence. During the Finnish Civil War it served as a prison for communist prisoners.
